NICOLE AUSTIN

Nicole believes in having diverse interests, and spends her time owning and running her marketing company The Impact Hub, and her NPO Uprising, which takes people on transformational journeys all over the world. The Impact Hub Events are a relevant platform for
critical conversations with thought leaders that inspire women in business across SA.

Her philanthropic efforts include being an executive board member and ambassador for Rare Diseases SA, and raising funds for them through her Uprising climbs. Nicole can be seen on eNCA hosting a health show called Brave Matters.

At six weeks old her daughter was diagnosed with a life- limiting rare disease, Cystic Fibrosis. This was a major catalyst for change in her life, and led her to enter and subsequently win the Mrs South Africa competition. As an advocate for women’s rights, Nicole believes she had a choice: to allow a disease to steal her purpose, using it as an excuse for complacency; or to consciously go after her dreams despite it, and in so doing, show her children that nothing can hold them back from achieving their goals.

With a passion for health and preventative medicine, Nicole uses her mobility and fitness to raise awareness for those without full health, by participating in mountain climbs, sporting events and outdoor adventures all over the world – with her intention to liberate courage in others to do the same. Nicole wants others to believe they can go on brave adventures too. Through both her journeys and her conversations, she helps fellow explorers find their strengths, celebrate them and realise their full potential. Nicole lives to celebrate freedom, authenticity and collaboration.

“I have never achieved anything great alone. I know that our best lives are those centered around collaboration. This breeds innovation. And this cultivates empowered change.”
